Refugee & Immigrant Legislative Day Olympia Wa, 2/8/12
View full size to see the joy of democratic direct action; most refugees are here escaping political and social repression in their native lands. Being able to freely demonstrate in front of the seat of power is beautiful thing.

This building like many other state capitols is very grand and stately. Build when citizens believed in the power of government to effect our lived in positive ways. Too bad government has become the enemy, something that should be starved and cut back and made as ineffective as possible.
Refugees from Bhutan lobby the state capitol to restore funding cut to ESL programs (English as a Second Language). Refugees can arrive in the United States after spending years in refugee camps, often with nothing but the clothes on their back.
ReWA’s Legislative Day
I went to the Refugee and Immigrant Legislative day today. Met with my two 36th district congress people, and lobbied for reinstating the cutbacks to the [LEP Pathways] and [Naturalization programs]. Both programs target impoverished refugees helping them to become self sufficient and successful contributors to society.
These programs have nothing to do with illegal aliens, they are only for legal immigrants and refugees.
