Blues for Smoke is an exhibition that explores contemporary art, music, literature, and film through the lens of the blues and ‘blues aesthetics.’
It is the very radical separation of man from God which unites us with God, since, in the figure of Christ, God is thoroughly separated from itself—the point is thus not to ‘overcome’ the gap which separates us from God, but to take note of how this gap is internal to God himself … —only when I experience the infinite pain of separation from God, do I share an experience with God himself (Christ on the Cross).
