From Furniture Maker Mike Oleson:
This dining table is made of iroko/kambala, with beech inlay. It is about 4’ x 2.5’ and seats four comfortably….
Iroko is a beautiful wood from Africa which has striking markings and a great depth of color. I was excited to work with this wood since it is not readily available in the U.S. but seems to be used here with some regularity. The most common woods in this part of Portugal are sapele, oak, beech, and pine. Finding other woods has been a real challenge.
